I would say my most significant accomplishment has not happened yet. My biggest accomplishment, is that I want to retouch and fix a family photo for my grandparents is still in process. This is very important to me because it deals with my family. My big idea has not become about yet, but I just know it will be inspiring for me and my grandparents. I feel like I just can not sit and think what my big idea is, I just feel like it has to come to you when you at least expect it.
My first day in this class I was so lost. I am not good with creative ideas or working with pictures, because I am always looking for the right answer. This is why I choose to take this class. So I think it was all a hard process, but I feel like everyday I get a little bit better with practice. By the end of this quarter I want to make the perfect final in my eyes. I am still not familiar with all the tools, but with practice overtime I will be able to master photoshop. So, yes this whole process is hard for me, so by the end I will be good at Photoshop.
Two projects that I want to compare is the two quizzes where we made a face "perfect." My first photo I did was Reeese Witherspoon, and I feel like it was decent, but the next quiz when I retouched Kristen Stewart, I feel like it was really good. Her skin was more tan and less greasy, her hair blended more, and her makeup was perfect. My favorite person that I retouched was in my blog, when I did Miley Cyrus. I feel like she looked beautiful. Everything about her from her shirt, to her makeup, lips, and skin color I felt was perfect. These projects meant the most to me because I enjoy doing hair and makeup, so being able to do it on a computer was a whole new thing for me.
This class overall was very helpful to me. Now I can fix, make and retouch photos without making my friends do it for me. I really enjoyed this class and I would recommend taking this class, as a process of succeeding in a college career

Blog Assignment #4
I have been thinking about my final project since the day you mentioned fixing a family photo. My grandmother has thousands of photos that my mom fixed up, but being in this Photoshop class, I want to make mine better. I am not sure what my big idea is at the time, but I want to be able to present this picture to my mom and grandma. This is means a lot to me because my grandma is old and I know this will just make her day. My mom is bringing me a couple of pictures to choose from and I am going to try to fix each one individually, then put them together to make a collage.
My visual strategy that I am looking at is my grandparents engagement photo in the center and around the edge a picture of their children. This image communicates my meaning by giving my grandparents their engagement photo not faded or old looking, so this picture can last longer.
This work I hope will be used in their living room, where all their important family pictures are hanging up. They actually have the picture I am going to fix in the middle, so hopefully this one will be beside they original picture.
Here are three photos that has influenced my work for my final Project
These three photos is what I am going to somewhat do. The biggest influence was when you said some one has retouch and old photo, and I know my grandmother would love to be able to see the same picture, and keep it longer. I love looking at old fashioned photos, so this will definitely be an awesome project for me to do for my final.
One new photoshop technique that I will attempt to incorporate in my final is to make a photo that is ripped and black white, to a new colored photo. Here is a tutorial I found on how to make this happen.

This project, just like my midterm will have a direct meaning towards me and my family, and I will make this happen by using Photoshop.

When deciding what artist's I wanted to use, I thought about what I enjoy doing the most in class. I found that my favorite thing to do is to retouch a photo by adding makeup, and making the "perfect" person. The artist I like, that uses creativity and photoshop to produces his art is Edward Harlovic.
This artist has an effect on me because, I love the bright colors, and the adding of makeup. When I need to relax, I fix pictures to make them look perfect, and he does this in a creative way. I would say the big ideas in his work is to make his photos look somewhat watery or underwater.
His "watery" looks is what inspires me. When I look at his art, I think is this what a perfect person looks like underwater or what is the person in his art looking up from underwater at?
I will use this artist in my final project, because I will be retouching a family photo, and I will change the makeup and appearance of every person. The stylistic components I learned by looking at his art is the way he details the eyes. For my final, I will make sure I retouch the eyes, to give off the innocent look. When I add my final touches to my artwork, I want them to look watery or old fashioned so I will make sure my art looks like that! I love his artwork.

My second artist I choose to use is Carrie Mae Meems. I decided to choose here because for my big idea for my final, I want to retouch an old photograph and she works with old photos from the past. I love looking at my grandparents pictures and hearing stories from their past. I wish I could go back in time and spend one week in the olden times. Here is some pictures of her artwork.
I choose these two pictures because I like old fashion. These Picture inspire me because my grandparents have a picture in a car like this, that I would love to fix up for them, so it will last longer. The picture with the big family reminds me of my huge family, so this inspires me through my family.
This artist appeals to me because of the old fashioned photos she takes. The big idea of her art, I would say it is the struggle for blacks in America.
These pictures inspires me because I am close with my grandparents, and when they tell stories of the olden times, this is what I think of. When I look at her art, I think of did she struggle in her life? Or does she love being around her family and friends?
I have not chosen my picture I want to fix for my final project. I cant decide on the picture of my nuclear family, or a picture of my grandparents in their car. A stylistic component I learned to make my work stronger, is to make sure the photo is in black and white. The approach I will use is to make the art black and white, I will add no color because in the past there was only black and white.
Here is a link where I found the artist and her art.

When I was browsing on the tutorial website, I found most interesting in the chamgin in makeup. I love doing makeup so this tutorial suited me well. Here is the link to my tutorial.

Here is my first picture. Here I added orange shadow because her shirt is orange. It gives more defintion to her eyes and it bring out her shirt. To chamge the make up, I used the brush tool and changed it to overlay, to give it a blended look. Finally I used the blur to make sure the eyes were blended even.
In this picture, I noticed her cheecks looked pale, so I added some color. To do this, I changed the layer to Soft light and choose the color black. I colored on her cheeck bones, and then went to blur so her cheecks blended in.

Here is my next picture. In this picture I chamged her lip color. I brightened her lips to more pink. The brighter the lips the more it makes your face looks like it is glowing. I also added a lip liner because it make your lip stand out. To do this I used the brush tool, liek said in the tutorial and chamged it to blur, so her lips became more pink.

The artist I found most interesting to me that use a computer to design his artwork is Neil Duerden. HIs primary source for creating his art is photoshop or digital art. I am attracted to his art because of all his variations of bright colors.
